Looking for Mother’s Day gift ideas? Joanne may not have originally intended to book a Family Mini Session as a consideration for Mother’s Day gift ideas and yet it somehow worked out perfectly that way!
I’ve been fortunate to know Joanne (the wonderful young lady pictured in the blue dress without glasses) for a while now; we actually went to the same high school. Never before had I met her family, so I was very pleased when I had learned that Joanne was arranging a Family Mini Session! Joanne has moved to Europe and, as such, communication has become difficult so it was really nice to know she was coming back for a visit. And it was also such a pleasure to meet the rest of her family! What a perfect way to celebrate having the family back together than having a photo session done – honestly, though, we know how often family photos get done and the answer is, sadly, not often enough.
On the list of Mother’s Day gift ideas, probably the #1 idea is flowers and chocolate. Pretty much every mother loves this, but quite frankly – the flowers don’t last that long and the chocolate gets eaten faster than one would like to admit (and also probably with the help of dad, who also won’t admit to partaking)! I can sympathize, however, my mother is incredibly difficult to persuade getting in front of anything that resembles a camera (well, it’s no surprise where I get my camera shyness from) but to have these memories is so crucial, if you ask me. So I sneak my camera to whenever we have family dinners or special occasions, just to get these moments captured, to document life as it’s happening.
I’m pretty sure the best gift one can give their mother is their time. As far as I’m concerned, there’s nothing that would be more memorable and time well spent when considering Mother’s Day gift ideas than to just spend time with the one who loves you and gave you life.
