Rebecca and Phil hail from a place in Newfoundland, however for the past few years, Calgary has been their home. When they began planning their wedding, they decided on incorporating their two homes into their special planning by having their wedding out in Newfoundland and keeping their Engagement Session here in Calgary. After meeting with them and learning their specific likes and dislikes about photography, I knew we would be a great team. They wanted a very natural session, something that would showcase a candid and thoughtful love for each other. They suggested using their home in the photos which made me super, super happy. There is nothing more natural and candid than one’s own personal home, and I honestly think we don’t get enough photos of these places that we call our most comfortable and safe places on this planet. We decided that a golden hour engagement session would be pretty much ideal for the session – a golden hour engagement session is basically my favorite thing. Mix it together with a couple that loves wine, loves a more natural and candid side of life, and, most of all, loves each other… well, I couldn’t ask for more. I spent a wonderful summer evening with Rebecca and Phil capturing their golden hour engagement session and how I wish I could be there in Newfoundland for their wedding, but I am content knowing they really enjoyed their session and the resulting photos created from that evening of memories. One of my favorite things about this session was driving around with Rebecca and Phil to each location, and overhearing the really sweet nicknames these two made up for each other. Phil is a super kind and thoughtful person towards Rebecca and she is really sweet back to him, and they speak to each other very softly. Ah. It’s so sweet! Couldn’t have asked for a better golden hour engagement session with these two. :)
