Aline and Mike win the award for the most chill bride and groom of the year, I’m sure of it. We had some wild weather on the days leading up to the wedding – does anyone remember August 29th and how the skies opened up angrily in monsoon-like showers? That kind of forecast lingered right through until the morning of Aline and Mike’s big day, but when I arrived… there was not a cloud in sight. Until later in the afternoon, where we actually did get rained on, but we took it like champs (with umbrellas).
The couple did a first look, which is done usually if the ceremony starts in the evening (as it did here) and the couple want to do photos beforehand. Mike was absolutely blown away upon seeing Aline. He kept mouthing to her, “so beautiful”. And he would just cradle her. Kiss her forehead. My favorite part? They’ve been together for 10 years, and he still looks at her like he’s just spotted the most stunning woman in a crowd and needs to talk to her. She’s his world, and she looks at him in the same way. I got a little teary here, not going to lie.
The rest of the day was so smooth, thankfully to the excellent time management from the bride and groom. They brilliantly allotted lots of time for all photos, only two locations for creatives, leaving them time to do something that most brides and grooms don’t get during their wedding day: time to breathe and enjoy with their guests. I can’t stress enough how important this is. Throw in some absolutely amazing ladies and a groom that has a fantastic sense of humor, and you’re pretty much golden with a stress-free day.
Since I didn’t stay for most of the reception, I had to steal these two away during dinner to catch some of the amazing light during the dinner. And it was totally worth it. Can’t go wrong with a Valley Ridge Golf Course wedding and sunset – and a stunning bride and groom. Aline and Mike, thank you so much for being so fantastic and easy going. Your amazing attitudes even in the face of rain is admirable, and it was an absolute pleasure and honor to be chosen as your photographer for your big day.
Thank you to Crystal of Sujata Photography for the awesome help during the day!
