Beautiful couple? Check. Winter wonderland? Check. Amazing condo pool? Check. Emotion wedding? … super check.
Nancy and Jon had a lovely Christmas wedding at home. The day of the wedding, it was a winter wonderland – perfect for a Christmas wedding. Huge piles of snow on the ground and trees, and it was great weather for some outdoor shots as well. What else could you ask for for a Christmas wedding?
Nancy and Jon are both from Ontario, so in order to have their friends and family join in on their celebration without having to make the trek to Calgary, they used the wonders of modern technology to broadcast their Christmas wedding using Skype. Nancy and Jon had a First Look, and Jon was definitely blown away. Before making their vows, we took advantage of the amazingly kind winter weather of that day to do some Christmas wedding photos outside. Seriously, I can’t believe how mild 2013’s winter was, and how fortunate we were to have such a beautiful day!
These two love their neighborhood, and we took to their apartment’s amenities room to do some fun photos in the recreation area. When we walked into the pool area, my jaw basically dropped to the floor. The awesome retro colors of the pool area were absolutely perfect as the sun was setting, so we HAD to use it. Oh yes, did I mention that walking into a suddenly humid room is not that great for cameras? Haha. Shooting through condensation on the lens had a pretty cool effect, nevertheless.
Surrounded by 10 of their closest family and friends, Nancy and Jon’s Christmas wedding was an emotional one. Hand-written vows were spoken, and the wedding rings that were placed on the huge (!!) Christmas tree were exchanged. The wedding cake and cupcakes were provided by a friend (they looked AMAZING!), and the rest, as they say, is history.
Thank you, Nancy and Jon, for letting me share in on your beautiful and intimate at-home Christmas wedding.
