Of course, it’s going to be +30 today in Calgary, but here I am blogging some winter engagement photos. It’s only natural.
Elizabeth and Andrew contacted me last year very close to their wedding day to inquire about winter engagement photos, as they weren’t planning to have any formal photography on the day of their upcoming wedding over Christmas. Elizabeth mentioned she enjoyed the sense of humor in my photography, and was hoping to do something similar in their session. I was so happy to hear that they wanted to include their beautiful, recently purchased home – built many decades ago and personalized to their likes, it was a wonderful sight to see. Honestly, including one’s home in a photography session is one of my favorite things to capture. There’s nothing more personal and memorable than the place you call home, and feel the most comfortable. Memories that will last forever in a person’s home now captured forever in photography – it just makes sense. And it was SUCH a cute home (with super cute owners), to boot!
It snowed a little bit during our winter engagement photos session, but that didn’t dampen the humor for Liz and Andrew. The humor they said they loved in my photography came out naturally of their own accord during the session. We had a great time using their home, some old architecture downtown, and also SUPER pleased that the wonderful folks at Galaxie Diner were kind enough to let us take a few photos in their fantastic restaurant. It was such a perfect wrap up to our session, and I’m sure that Liz and Andrew enjoyed their milkshake! :)
Thank you again, Liz and Andrew, for your amazing smiles and great humor, and for letting me capture your winter engagement photos! (Also, future couples, don’t be scared of winter engagement photos! They are AWESOME!)
