Roanne and Jordan‘s wedding was colorful, fun, and emotional. I loved all of the details – personal popcorn bags, cute banners on the cupcakes, fun reception games like the shoe game and random facts about the bride and groom, as well as all the beautiful signs for the ceremony. Not to mention the great door decorations for the ceremony! Jordan’s dad was honored with a beautiful anchor pin/cuff link, and with some emotional speeches during the reception – if there’s any way to make your photographer cry at your wedding day, that would be it. Not a dry eye in the house.
We made some stops around Bragg Creek county in some beautiful areas for portraits; the sky was amazing that day and it was hard to go wrong when all the pieces fall into place!
Thank you so much, Roanne and Jordan, for including me in your amazing wedding day! Big thanks to Crystal of Sujata Photography for her assistance!
What was your planning process?
“We only had 6 months to plan a wedding so the location was really luck of the draw- and we scored big! It was already decided that we would most certainly have an outside wedding. Neither one of us really liked the idea of having it at a golf course at first but after lots of searching, it seemed like that was all that was really available in Calgary. We called around to a couple golf courses and Elbow Springs was the first to get back to us. Roanne met with the event coordinator, it just seemed so simple. One location and we got our outside wedding and a reception room. No third party catering needed! The style was very easy. Roanne has an obsession with mason jars and burlap! We went with more of a relaxed style because that’s who we are.”
Your favorite part?
“Having our family and friends all under one roof for a couple hours was great. We finished up pictures early (thanks to our efficient photographer) so we had a little time before supper to go around and say hi to everyone. Looking back, that was probably the best part of the day (aside from “I do’s”).”
Any advice for future couples planning their wedding day?
“Some advice would be to remember that at the end of the day, you’re marrying your best friend. All the other little things really don’t matter. And find humor in the little things that don’t go as planned. Also, find a great photographer because after the day is done, all you have left are memories and photographs!”
