For those of you who don’t know this about me, I’m a foodie (but I guess who isn’t, really), and I especially love being able to experience and photograph amazing restaurants. When I learned that Jenna and Kevin were planning their wedding at Q Haute Cuisine, I definitely did a little dance inside my head. I have to admit, I had never been inside the restaurant before prior to their wedding rehearsal and it definitely didn’t disappoint. It was such a lovely and perfect spot for Jenna and Kevin’s intimate celebration.
Jenna and Kevin shared personal vows, and the emotions ran high during their ceremony. The decor and florals (provided by the lovely Flowers by Janie) were stunning and the staff of Q Haute Cuisine were very courteous and quick-moving to flip the ceremony room into a reception room. I was really thankful to the family for enduring the crazy strong winds outside for photos, and especially to Kevin (who was a little sick with a cold, poor guy!) and Jenna for being such amazing troopers.
The bride and groom really wanted this celebration to be about family, so I was given lots of time to capture candid shots of everyone around the room. I found this really amazing and refreshing.
Thank you, Jenna and Kevin, for including me in your special day!
Describe your planning process:
Jenna & Kevin: “We wanted a wedding that didn’t really feel like a wedding – essentially a dinner with vows. Q Haute took care of everything and were extremely easy to work with. Our “wedding dinner party” was 31 people with a 6-course dinner and it was perfect.”
What was your favorite part?
Jenna & Jevin: “We are private people, so the ceremony felt a bit overwhelming even with such a small group. The best part was afterwards at dinner when we could visit with everyone who had traveled so far to be there with us. That, and flying out to Africa the next day for our honeymoon!”
Greatest advice for planning a wedding?
Jenna & Kevin: “We weren’t sure about having a photographer. Because our wedding was so simple, we initially didn’t feel we would really need professional pictures. We are SO happy we changed our minds and had Anna to capture the ceremony and reception. It was wonderful to get the pictures back and she caught so many moments we otherwise wouldn’t have seen. Advice: hire Anna.”
