Dalmy + Raj | International Wedding Calgary Zoo

Dalmy and Raj’s wedding celebration was super unique in that, by the time it came for their Calgary Zoo wedding, it was their third time getting married. Yep. Three times! The two of them have family all over the world, and it was very important for them to celebrate with their friends and family and to make sure everyone feels included, so they planned this international wedding. One of my favorite quotes from the day comes from Dalmy’s wedding vows, in which she said that despite all of the crazy planning for three separate weddings, she would get married to Raj every single day if she could. Nawwww (and the guests audibly “aww”ed at this sweet sentiment).

Thank you to Glen of Glen Co Photography for your assistance during the day!

Describe the planning process of your third wedding!
Dalmy and Raj: “We suppose we ended up having an unintentional “international” theme not only because we spent the first year of our relationship living in different continents and travelling to different countries together but also likely because both our families come from all different corners of the world from South America, India, England to Hungary. The food, the music, the dancing, the decorations right up to our attire represented the rich diversity of cultures both our families possess.”

What was your favorite part of your day?
Dalmy and Raj: “The Dhol player (Indian Drummer) was pretty awesome. We had a great time on the dance floor while he drummed beats along to both Indian and Latin music. We also had a blast with our wedding party (which consisted mostly of our siblings) when we came across a random playground and ended up having an impromptu photo session there. We all went to town on the jungle gym while trying our best not to get our fancy attire all dirty before the ceremony.”

Best advice to everyone planning their wedding?
Dalmy and Raj: “Don’t be afraid to ask for help. There are a lot of people more than willing to offer a helping hand if you just identify where you might need support.”

They would also love to add this: “We are so grateful to all our friends and family who not only travelled from all over the world to help make our wedding so memorable, but who have also supported us throughout our long distance relationship. Without their love and support we could not have made it to this day and we just feel so blessed.”
