Now, here we have two engineers that know how to have fun! For Alison and Anthony, their top priority was to make sure everyone had a good time and to involve their bridal party in a bunch of playground shenanigans. Literally. While we weren’t left with much time for portraits, we still made the most of what time we had by goofing off at a playground with this fun as heck bridal party.
This summer’s slurry of perpetual storms did not yield for Alison and Anthony’s big day. Thankfully, the rain hit the city towards the end of the night, which actually provided the guests of the reception an amazing lightning show at Lynx Ridge Golf Course. Even more thankfully, Alison and Anthony obliged when I took them away from their reception just as the rain hit for a couple of photos out on the green. I love me some rain photos!
Huge thank you to Crystal of Sujata Photography for the help during their big day!

Describe your planning process!
A&A: “The big selling feature for Lynx Ridge was the venue layout and the huge patio. We wanted somewhere where people could enjoy a beverage in the fresh air! We also used Alison’s family tartan as a theme and picked colors that would complement the rich colors in the tartan. Otherwise, we just tried to keep it simple!”
What was your favorite part of your big day?
A&A: “Our favorite part was walking into the reception after our emcee’s introduced us. It was overwhelming to see all of our friends and family there to celebrate with us! You have an idea of how big your wedding would be when you’re planning the numbers, but it’s incredible to see everyone there together. Oh and the dance floor was epic – Turn down for what! … One of our favorite memories from the day was getting to play on the playground during our creatives photo session. We showed up at the location for one of our creatives and found that it was already being used for a wedding that day. Anna was quick to improvise and we found a nearby playground that made for some great photos and was a lot of fun for our awesome bridal party.”
Any advice for newly engaged couples planning their wedding?
A&A: “Take the opportunity to use the planning process to get to know each other even more. For us, our wedding prep course encouraged us to have date nights where we discussed talked in depth about each other, our families and our future. It was a reminder that we making an important commitment and not just planning a party. Oh and you’ll need at least one spreadsheet – these two engineers needed several!”
