I knew that Beatriz and Shaun would be an amazing couple to work with when I first saw Beatriz’ Facebook profile photos. In one of them, she was dressed as Flint Lockwood from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, a costume she had made herself. She even had giant meatballs and spaghetti pasta affixed to an umbrella to complete the look. Totally. Amazing.
Residing in Toronto, planning a wedding on the other side of the country was likely not an easy task, but they pulled it off SO well. The bridal party was fantastic, and while it’s typical that the groomsmen are usually the ones goofing around, it was definitely the bridesmaids that kept us all entertained throughout the day! Also, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many GoPros at a wedding before (or was it just one that kept popping up? I’ll never know.) ;)
Beatriz and Shaun opted for a first look – and since they were both getting ready at the same hotel and taking the same car, the plan was to blindfold Shaun until the appointed time. Thankfully, he arrived to the location unscathed and then when he turned around to see his beautiful bride, the look on his face is PRICELESS. He was totally speechless upon seeing Beatriz, it was amazing!
One of my favorite shots of the day has to be the hug that Shaun’s dad gave him at the altar of the church. Such a sweet and powerful gesture; you can see how proud he is of his son.
It’s always a pleasure to photograph at one of the most beautiful hotels in our city, the Fairmont Palliser, where Beatriz and Shaun’s wedding party danced the night away!
Big thank you to Glen of Glen Co Photography for his amazing assistance and second shooting throughout the day!
