Just when I thought Rainmageddon was over… I was wrong.
What an unusual bout of weather this summer. While rain throughout July is not that uncommon, what has been shocking (no pun intended… or maybe pun intended) is the amount of thunderstorms we’ve experienced. The entire week leading up to Tara and Graham’s big day had been daily thunderstorms, and their wedding day was no exception. The two had planned to get married outside in their backyard, rain or shine, and took action upon hearing that the rain was not letting up. The two organized tents to be put up for the guests; as for themselves, they had resigned to using umbrellas at the altar if necessary. Thankfully, once the ceremony rolled by, it was only drizzling so no umbrellas were required as they exchanged vows. Heavier rain made its appearance for the reception, but it didn’t stop the party from dancing underneath the tents! Thankfully, I came prepared with high tech waterproof solutions (aka Ziplock bags) to keep my flashes dry while being pummeled by rain. They did a much better job than I anticipated! ;)
I really enjoyed all of the thoughtful decorations put into the big day! The space was transformed into a really amazing wedding area — Tara credits Pinterest for a lot of the ideas but they did an amazing job of putting it all together. :) I absolutely LOVED Tara’s 3 piece wedding outfit!
Thank you so much to Tara and Graham for having me be a part of this beautiful celebration!
