On a weekend that can only be described as the “saving grace” for living in Calgary, Alex & Darrel had the luck of the draw for their 2018 winter engagement session – that happened to fall on a warm chinook day right after a week of a -30C cold spell. I really loved how they chose to include their home in their photos, and it was (once again) lucky timing as their brand new furniture had just arrived the previous day! For a portion of the time, Alex did her best to try and convince Darrel on the idea of adopting a puppy, which made for some really cute smiles. I don’t think Darrel was won over. I’m rooting for you, Alex!
I learned about Alex’ Polish lineage and about her grandparents; I learned about Darrel’s passion for hockey and skating. As soon as Darrel stepped on the ice, he took off with some impressive moves despite his hurt ankle! I’m surprised he moved the way he did in his condition – it made for some really great memories and photos! Thank you, Alex and Darrel, for a lovely winter Sunday afternoon in your home and at the Bowness Skating Lagoon!
