I am pretty sure that Alex and Darrel’s wedding at Stewart Creek Golf Club is going to bless their marriage with incredibly good fortune as it was sandwiched in between two weekends that were absolutely the craziest blizzard conditions we’ve had in a long time in the mountains. The weekend before their wedding was a storm unlike any other, and it honestly made me wonder if most of the wedding-related people would have made it at all – but, thankfully, the following weekend was warm enough that it allowed for near “jacket off” conditions. Oh, the prairies, there’s really never a dull moment!
Alex and Darrel are two incredible people who got together and had an incredible wedding day. Their intimate and chill wedding day was an amazing reflection of the two of them together – calm, collected, and just the right amount of silly and fun. During the reception, Darrel told the guests how he proposed to Alex during a trip to the mountains, where he had this elaborate plan to propose during a specific time. However, at one moment, Alex saw a double rainbow (all across the sky!) and Darrel decided that things were just too perfect in this moment, took the ring out and said, “well, I guess I better do this now”. I just love proposal stories like this! Having had a proposal very similar to theirs, this really warms my heart.
Having opted out of having a bridal party, I had a fantastic time with the two of them for the whole day and everything went at a really nice pace, nothing was rushed nor stressful. I really couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off my 2018 wedding year!
