HEY! LISTEN! Thanks for visiting! I’m a nerdy Polak living in Canada, and I got into photography by using a DV-8 camera to photograph caterpillars. True story.

 

The boring stuff: Born in Warsaw, Poland, my parents (along with my sister) immigrated to Calgary, Alberta when I was 6 years old.  I’ve been living here ever since.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction from the Alberta University of the Arts. But that was a hundred years ago.

After realizing my dream of becoming a mermaid when I “grew up” was not feasible, I shifted gears to photography as a career. On September 7, 2007, the day before my birthday and after months of planning and preparation, I gave myself the birthday gift of opening my own business – Anna Michalska Photography was born.

Fun stuff: I live with two troublemaker cats, Jeeves and Lady Earl Grey, and my husband.  Growing up in a European kitchen, I learned that everything from scratch just tastes that much better, and I am known as the dessert lady in my circle of friends.  I am a bit of a geek – I love animation and illustration, video games, and yes – I am one of those that will laugh at every cat meme on the internet.
I’m open, friendly, and sometimes hilarious (hopefully). Your wedding day should be stress-free and I do my best to make that a reality. I make sure all of your amazing moments are covered, ninja-style.
I love to travel and have photographed weddings across Canada and planet Earth. My dream is to document a wedding in Japan someday!
